Reuse one signature across your reply snippets

Keep a signature in one Typeblast snippet and reuse it in saved replies. Try nested snippets during the 14-day Pro trial, without a card.

You change your portfolio link, then remember it is saved at the bottom of several different replies. With nested snippets, those replies can all use the same signature. Edit that signature once and the next expansion uses the new text.

This is a guide from the Typeblast team. Nested snippets need Pro or an active Pro trial. You can try Pro for 14 days without a card: download the Mac app, sign in and choose the trial. Installing the app alone does not start it.

Save your signature

Create a Plain Text snippet called Signature. Set its abbreviation to ;sig, leave Enabled on and put your signature in Content. Here is a fictional example; replace the name and link with your own.

Suggested abbreviation ;sig
Thanks,
Alex
https://example.com/portfolio

Use a unique abbreviation. Keep the signature as ordinary text for this example, without scripts or fill-in fields.

Refer to it from two replies

Create two more Plain Text snippets with the content below. Leave both enabled. The exact text %snippet:;sig% tells Typeblast to insert the content of the enabled ;sig snippet when the reply expands.

Suggested abbreviation ;received
Thanks for sending this over. I will take a look.

%snippet:;sig%
Suggested abbreviation ;files
Could you send the file we discussed? I need it before I can continue.

%snippet:;sig%

Open an unsent draft in your usual editor and type ;received. If your trigger setting is After Space/Punctuation, add a space. The result should end with the signature text, not the %snippet:;sig% token. Test ;files too, and adjust the replies before using them with anyone.

Change the signature and try again

Edit only the Signature snippet. For this example, replace https://example.com/portfolio with https://example.com/work. Type ;received and ;files again in a fresh draft. Both new expansions should use the updated link.

Previously inserted text stays as it was. Typeblast does not rewrite old drafts or sent messages. If you rename the ;sig abbreviation, update the references in the replies too.

If the token appears as plain text, check that the Signature snippet is enabled and its abbreviation matches ;sig. If the reply does not expand at all, check that Pro or the trial is active, expansion is enabled, and Typeblast has Accessibility permission.

Check the basic expansion setup

What happens after the trial?

The trial does not charge you automatically. If you want to keep expanding nested replies, Pro is $2.50/month or $25/year in USD. For a library with many replies, it means you can maintain a repeated section in one place.

Without Pro, you can keep using Free with 20 active snippets and unlimited expansions. The nested replies in this guide need Pro to expand; to use them on Free, replace %snippet:;sig% with the actual signature text and enable them within your 20-snippet allowance. You will then need to edit each copy when the signature changes.

These snippets stay in your local Mac library. Nesting does not add personal multi-Mac sync or private team sharing. Typeblast requires macOS 14 or later.
