Start with Free if you need a few email replies, addresses, or other phrases throughout the day. Typeblast Free lets you keep 20 snippets active at a time, with unlimited saved snippets and unlimited expansions.
Pro is useful when you want more than 20 snippets ready to expand or need scripting, nested snippets, and rules for individual apps. It costs $2.50 per month or $25 per year in USD.
What the Free limit actually counts
An active snippet is ready to expand when you type its abbreviation. A saved snippet can remain in your library while inactive. The 20-snippet limit applies to the active set, not the total number you can keep.
You can switch which snippets are active as your work changes. For example, keep your everyday replies active and swap in project-specific text when you need it. Expanding the same reply repeatedly does not use up a quota.
Local text expansion on Free does not require an account or a card. Typeblast requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

A signed-in account can be active on one Mac at a time. Choose a plan based on the snippets and tools you need on that Mac.
When Pro earns its place
The simplest reason to upgrade is a growing library. If you keep turning useful snippets off to stay within 20, unlimited active snippets let you leave them ready to use.
Pro also supports JavaScript, shell, and AppleScript snippets. These are useful when the text you need must be calculated or produced by a script. Use scripts you understand and test them with sample input before relying on their output.
Nested snippets let you reuse one snippet inside another. If several replies share a signature or standard paragraph, keeping that text in one nested snippet gives you one place to edit it.
Per-app exclusions let you turn expansion off in selected apps. That can help when an abbreviation you use in messages conflicts with text you type elsewhere.
Local snippets and public groups
Your personal snippet library stays on your Mac. Typeblast does not currently provide personal cloud sync or private team sharing.
Community groups are public collections. Subscribing to a public group is separate from syncing a personal library. Keep private messages, customer information, and internal URLs in local snippets.
Choose after a few days of use
Begin with the phrases you already repeat. After a few days, check how many you actually use and whether any task needs a script or nested snippet. If the Free plan covers those habits, you can keep using it.
If you are eligible, you can choose to start the optional 14-day Pro trial in the Mac app. It requires a verified account, is available once per account, and does not require a card. Previous paid access or a trial already used on the Mac can make an account ineligible.
